Sunday, 10/21 at 2:00 PM: In this family concert, the VSO presents a musical narration of Steve Schuch’s book A Symphony of Whales, inspired by the true story about whales stranded in the Siberian Sea and the heroic efforts to free them. Music plays a key role in the rescue, and the concert audience becomes part of the recovery! In addition, quartet members Sofia Hirsch, David Gusakov, Hilary Hatch, and Dieuwke Davydov play special spooky Halloween selections.
Middlebury audience favorite Paul Lewis will perform Franz Schubert's last three piano sonatas on Friday, October 26 at the Mahaney Center for the Arts: a fitting finale to his run of five concerts featuring all of composer's mature piano works from the Wandererfantasie onwards. Lewis is internationally recognized as one of the leading pianists of his generation.
Friday 9/28 and Saturday 9/29 at 12:30 & 4:30 PM: Audiences will embark on an elaborate journey in and around the Mahaney Center for the Arts in this sweeping, site-specific performance event by award-winning U.S. dance company PearsonWidrig DanceTheater, in collaboration with the Dance Company of Middlebury. Presented as part of the Clifford Symposium.
