Students who choose to attend the Middlebury German School during the summer may use their credits to satisfy part of their major requirements.

Although it is not required, many of our majors and minors  spend a summer  in the intensive immersion program of the Middlebury College German School, usually following their second year of German study.  The German School program  covers the equivalent of an academic year of German study in seven weeks and contributes enormously to the student’s fluency and confidence in speaking German in a wide variety of settings. Summer in the German School is excellent preparation for study in Middlebury’s programs in Germany.
