Nial grew up in India and Nigeria, and attended high school at the United World College in India before arriving at Middlebury as an undergraduate in 2008. He was an Environmental Studies major with a focus in policy and a minor in Chinese. After graduating, Nial worked at Middlebury as the Commons Resident Advisor for Brainerd Commons. His experiences at the college as a student and a staff member lead him to pursue a master’s degree in higher education from Harvard University. After graduate school, he worked in Admissions and Student Life at Colorado College and then as the coordinator of multicultural recruitment at Lewis & Clark College. Nial returned ‘home’ to Middlebury in the fall of 2017. He lives in New Haven with his college sweetheart and cat, and loves to cook, read, and explore all that Vermont has to offer. Nial is also an aspirational goat farmer.
