Why did you choose to attend Middlebury? I knew that I wanted to attend a smaller liberal arts college and Vermont absolutely stole my heart. Once I saw the cows and mountains on my first drive up here from New York City, I felt that Middlebury was the most idyllic college town I could ask for. Plus, the passionate student body assured me that I would find a home here to explore my wide array of academic interests—ranging from science to creative writing.

Is there a J-term experience that stands out as especially memorable, or perhaps a course offering or research opportunity that jumps out? I went completely out of my comfort zone this past J-term and enrolled in a language course (which are known at Midd for their intensity), and it was one of the most challenging and rewarding courses I’ve ever taken. I learned how to read, write, and speak Hindi over the span of just four weeks, and I was very proud of my progress. It also brought me closer to my grandparents, who were happy that I took an opportunity to learn a language that is part of my heritage.

Favorite Vermont spot? Lulu’s Ice Cream shop in Vergennes! It’s actually that good—try the orange cardamom flavor!

One fun fact about you or unknown talent you have: I absolutely despise ketchup.
