You Are Here; Artist’s Reception will take place on September 17th, 5-7PM in the Johnson Exhibition Gallery. You Are Here features a combination of artistic and scientific studies of the Central Vermont Landscape and Geology. Included are recent works by artists Jill Madden and Dorothy Punderson and Professor Will Amidon from Middlebury’s Earth and Climate Sciences Department.

An anti-diet dance theater performance that uses an intersectional approach to understand anti-fatness in relation to capitalism, race, and patriarchy through an historic lens, current analysis, and personal experience. Using ensemble and solo dance, song, storytelling, research, and projections, this one-hour show is also about body liberation, pleasure, dancing alone in the mirror, eating mangoes, and shaking off that which binds us.
Performed by Laura Haines, Winnie Looby, Alex Heisler, Zoraya Hightower, Hadley Mueller, Rhonda Doonan, and Rachel Siegel.

Come as you are, learn the basics, get inspired. Creative arts can be a tool for healing and connection. Meet some Maker Space TAs and complete your first gear training, setting the stage for boundless creative opportunities. Maker Space TAs will show you how to use the 3D Printer, the Laser Cutter, the Robot Arm, and more; bring your own laptop to start designing. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Space is limited.

Through subtle sensing, ie interoception, along with an understanding of the grounding parameters of biomechanics, physiology, and physics as defined in The Axis Syllabus©, we can investigate, feel into, and come to know where we are in space and time.

This public event will welcome a delegation of Maori and Pasifika colleagues visiting Middlebury College from Aotearoa/New Zealand. Panel members will discuss the role of purakau (storytelling), waiata (song), and whakatauki (proverbs) in Indigenous Maori and Polynesian practices of wellbeing and planetary stewardship. Through the teachings of the kuaka, a shorebird known for its remarkable migration from Aotearoa to North America, this event invites attendees to explore the idea that journeys are collective and community futures can soar in spaces of mutual learning, responsibility, and relationship.
