Film Screening of Gambatte Kimashita: Japanese Flower Growers of the Salinas Valley
Join the MIIS Immigrant Rights Alliance (MIRA) for a screening of the film “Gambatte Kimashita: Japanese Flower Growers of the Salinas Valley.” This short oral history documentary captures the stories of the Japanese immigrants who arrived in California after World War II and built a successful flower growing industry in the Salinas Valley. The film is about 20 minutes long and will be introduced by filmmaker Eric Palmer. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session.
