In 1923, the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was introduced in U.S. Congress to ensure that women were equal under the law and to prevent sex-based discrimination. Almost 100 years later, the United States Constitution still does not guarantee equal rights for women. Together with many other campuses, we will participate in a zoom discussion with Carol Jenkins (CEO and Co-President of the ERA Coalition), Patricia Arquette (actress and activist),
Dr. Patricia Spearman (Senator, NV), and Gloria Steinem (activist)
to mobilize for ERA ratification.
A pizza dinner will be served.
Sponsored by the Feminist Resource Center at Chellis House, Feminist Action at Middlebury in collaboration with the ERA Coalition and the Groves Fellowship at Hunter College.
