World-Wide Climate Teach-In
–
Calendar AnnouncementMiddlebury joins hundreds of educational institutions around the world (in more than 50 countries and most US states) in the World Wide Teach-In on Climate and Justice on and around March 29, 2023. This will continue ongoing campus-wide conversations and engage students, faculty, and staff as we grapple with a time of planetary crisis and transformation.
During the week of March 27-31, all faculty are asked to devote at least five minutes of their classroom time to a conversation about climate solutions and justice so that we can engage as many of our community members as possible. Students are encouraged to bring up these topics in class, and confirm with your faculty that they will be participating. We also encourage students to take time in the groups they lead or participate in (athletics, affinity and interest groups) to talk through how these issues intersect. This could be a conversation that extends or relates to something already on the syllabus or agenda, or it could explore a new and different topic.
The climate teach-in is organized by a group of Economics and Environmental Studies Faculty, in partnership with Middlebury’s Climate Action Capacity Program and Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest.
