Before the Institute: I studied abroad—in Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina—then backpacked around the world for nine months.
Career Goal: To advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in international education.
Fun Fact: I love to read fantasy novels in my spare time, especially about the supernatural!

Kelly Bohan
Before the Institute: I earned BAs in English and French at the University of Missouri, then taught English in Le Mans, France, with the Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF).
Career Goal: To contribute to Franco-American exchange by working in study abroad in France promoting students’ learning about French language and culture.
Fun Fact: While living in France I visited more than 70 cities and villages.

Pilar Diaz de la Rubia
Before the Institute: I taught English in Madrid for three years as an auxiliar de conversación.
Career Goal: To work with high school Spanish students, helping them come to the U.S. for an international experience.
Fun Fact: I walked 500 miles (805 km) from France to Spain on the Camino de Santiago.

Charlotte Grant
Before the Institute: I served in the Peace Corps in Tanzania in the Environment sector, then taught elementary school science at a charter school in the South Bronx.
Career Goal: To work for the UN or similar organization in the field of education.

Lewis Lenard
Before the Institute: I graduated from SUNY Oswego with a BA in linguistics and Spanish.

Fun Fact: I love genealogical DNA testing, and I am 98 percent Ashkenazi.
