MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Middlebury once again invites nominations from faculty, staff, and students for “The Bonnie & John McCardell Citizen’s Medals” in honor of their ethic of public service. Launched in celebration of Middlebury’s bicentennial in 2000, the award honors local residents who have helped strengthen the Addison County community through their public service.

Over the past fifteen years, the College has presented medals to residents of Middlebury and surrounding towns for their service in fields such as medicine, education, business, philanthropy, government, and the arts.

Nominations for the 2017 Citizen’s Medals may be submitted by sending an e-mail or a paper copy packet to: David Donahue, Office of the President, Old Chapel. The deadline for nominations is February 17, 2017.

Nominations may be submitted by faculty, staff, or students. The nomination should consist of a 100 to 200-word summary of the individual’s contributions to the Addison County community, and a chronology of volunteer and public service-related activities. You can nominate someone who has been nominated before, assuming they were not selected previously.

Nominees must be current residents of Addison County (current employees of Middlebury College are not eligible for the award). The names of the winners will be announced in April.
