Dear Students,

Earlier in the day you received an email about extending spring break and attending classes remotely during the week of March 30th. I know you may be saddened and disappointed about losing time on the campus-with friends and professors, athletic events, performances, and the full set of activities and events you were looking forward to participating. However your health and safety remains our main focus during this time of the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19. I hope this help clarifies why we are extending spring break and moving to remote learning for the week of March 30th for now.

We have also received many questions this afternoon in response to the email regarding move-out logistics in the wake of the latest COVID-19 update. I am now writing to provide you with more detailed information and answers to some of your questions.

Moving Out

Pack the belongings you need for the next few weeks to take with you. The remainder of your belongings should be packed, labeled (including name, student id number, building, and room number), and left organized in your room. Boxes, tape, and labels will be available for pickup in Commons offices and other locations to be determined starting tomorrow. Remember to empty any refrigerators and dispose of perishable food items.


The break bus schedule is still being determined. Updates and additional information will be available on the FAQ page for students.

If you need financial assistance in securing transportation to leave campus, please use the form provided in the earlier email. If you have already submitted the form, additional questions about financial need have been added so please fill it out again.

Student Life Services

Student Life Services available during campus closure:

    • Parton Health and Counseling will be open. Hours may vary, please check the website for updates.
    • Counseling Support Line will remain available 24/7: 855-465-5013.

Dining Services

Proctor dining hall will be open over spring break, however we will move to a serve-model and remove self-serve stations.
