As of February 5, 2020, Middlebury College has instituted a new policy regarding visitors to campus due to the coronavirus.
If you traveled in China prior to February 3, we ask you to delay your visit to the College until after February 17. Following CDC guidance, individuals who must delay will be able to self-isolate and monitor their health for the recommended period of 14 days.
If you think that you may have been exposed to coronavirus, have traveled to an affected area, have symptoms (fever/cough/shortness of breath), and/or had close contact with someone who is confirmed to have, or being evaluated for, coronavirus (2019-nCoV infection), you should also delay your visit to the College for 14 days.
If you have traveled to China and you begin experiencing symptoms during the 14-day period after leaving, we ask that you not come to campus until you have been evaluated by a health professional, and you have been told that you do not have coronavirus, and your symptoms have resolved.
We expect very few individuals will need to delay their visit to campus since the U.S. government announced on Friday, January 31, that it was implementing additional rules regarding travel by individuals who have been in China and are returning to the U.S. These guidelines took effect on February 2, 2020. The U.S. is currently not allowing entry to foreign nationals who have been in China within the previous 14 days.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience that might result from the new policy.

Thank you for your interest in Middlebury and we look forward to welcoming you to campus.
