Faculty, Staff, Students, Fall 2021

The following message was sent on July 1 to students who were planning to study in China this fall.

Hello All,

I am sad to write that Middlebury will not be able to run the School in China programs this fall.  China is not issuing student visas yet, which makes it impossible for us to run the programs. If you are able and interested, I would be happy to switch your application from fall or year to Spring 2022, or winter term+spring. Just reply and let me know if this is what you would like me to do. I know that for some of you, especially seniors, this won’t be an option, and I truly am sorry that the pandemic has interrupted your Chinese studies this way, considering all that you’ve put into it.

I will adjust your Banner records to indicate that you will be returning to campus in the fall and you will be entered in the on-campus housing lottery this summer. You will also be able to register for courses via the add-drop period that is already in effect for the fall semester.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

With best wishes,

Bill
