MiddCORE remote will have sessions that are required to participate in live and will take about 30-40 hours a week of your time. MiddCORE participants located outside the U.S. will join the program from abroad, and will not need a U.S. visa status to participate in 2020.
Individuals already in the U.S. may participate in MiddCORE offered remotely (i.e. not on-site/not in-person), if their visa status allows for full-time study in that format. Those who are unsure should consult with the sponsor of their visa (their school or employer) or an immigration attorney to confirm.
Q If I receive financial aid for MiddCORE, will this affect my eligibility to also participate in an internship funded by Middlebury this summer?
No, participation in MiddCORE will not affect your eligibility to participate in another Middlebury-funded summer program or internship.
Yes, MiddCORE offers merit-based and/or need-based scholarship funds for both Middlebury or non-Middlebury students.
All students earn one unit of Middlebury credit for successful completion of MiddCORE. Middlebury’s suggested equivalency for one unit of credit is 3.3 semester hours. The process to transfer credit to a student’s home institution rests with that home institution. If students have questions, they should reach out to the Registrar’s Office at their home school.
You can expect synchronous learning to occur daily between the hours of 10:00am-2:00pm Eastern Daylight Time. Additional synchronous group work will be scheduled based on time zones of participants, and will be announced prior to the beginning of the program.
