The following mesage was sent to the Middlebury community on March 16 by David Provost, executive vice president for finance and treasurer and Karen Miller, vice president for human resources and chief risk officer.

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

In February we announced that Middlebury’s new human resources software, Oracle HCM, would go live on March 15.

We are writing to let you know that we have postponed the go-live date, given the extraordinary circumstances we are currently facing and their impact on our ability to make a successful transition.

This means we will continue to use Banner for our human resources operations, and we will not be using the HCM system for any purpose until further notice. As of Wednesday, March 18, all Banner functionality will be restored, and you may resume using the system as you always have.

All HCM training sessions in Middlebury and Monterey are canceled.

We have made this decision in consultation with our project managers, ITS, Human Resources, Finance, and our implementation partner, Hitachi.

Our current hope is that we will go live with HCM this summer. As we continue to deal with the rapidly evolving impacts of COVID-19, we will keep you apprised of our progress and revisions to the rollout schedule.

We would like to express our deep and ongoing appreciation to colleagues from ITS, Human Resources, and Finance for their tireless work on this complex project.

With great appreciation,

David Provost

Executive Vice President for Finance, and Treasurer

Karen Miller

Vice President for Human Resources and Chief Risk Officer
