The button component allows editors to add a call to action—something they’d like users to do—to their page. Buttons are used to guide users to take an action, such as
- update your information
A button looks like this:
When you add a button to your page, by selecting “Button” from the drop down menu and selecting “Add another Component” you will see this:
You can see there are two fields which need to be filled out in order for the button component to work properly:
- Link text
Here, you will add the url of the page you’d like the button to link.
You also may add brief text, one to three words, directing users what do to and giving them an idea of what they’ll experience when they click the button, examples include:
- “Learn more”
- “Register now”
- “Update your information”
- “Event schedule”
In this case, the link text is “Example Button” and you can see how it appears below.
Once you’ve added the url and the link text to the fields, and saved your work, be sure to test the button to confirm it goes to the right url.
