COVID-19: Essential Information

Hirschfield International Film Series 2021-2022

Extraordinary international and independent films, in-person and online most Saturdays from September through May.  Free and open to the public.

In-person screenings will take place at 3:00pm and 8:00pm in Axinn 232 this Fall and are currently limited to our on-campus community of students, faculty, and staff who have been approved to be on campus.  All current campus guidelines must be followed including the use of well-fitting face coverings inside.  Seating capacity is limited to 65 for each screening.

Extraordinary foreign and independent films, streamed online most Saturdays via Virtual Cinema.  Free and open to the public.  Dates may vary.  Times may vary.  Attendance restrictions may vary.

The Hirschfield International Film Series runs from September through May.  New titles are being added monthly so check back regularly and subscribe to ArtsMail to stay informed about upcoming screenings.

Middlebury College is taking immediate measures in response to current health events. Due to these restrictions on visitors and gatherings, ALL ARTS EVENTS THROUGH APRIL 12 HAVE BEEN CANCELED.

Italian Language Tables

The Italian language table is in Ross dining hall.  Language tables are a great opportunity to increase language skills over a delicious lunch.  Students of all skill levels will benefit greatly from sharing a meal and conversing with the department faculty and other Italian speakers in this restaurant-style environment.

 

Italian Department Learning Goals for the Major

Upon completion of an Italian major, students will possess advanced linguistic proficiency in Italian in speaking, comprehension, reading, and writing. During their Senior year, students will write a research project in Italian, in which they will show their ability to analyze critically literary texts, art works, and social issues in Italian, by using the appropriate vocabulary.
