Colby used a strong defensive effort to knock off seventh-ranked Middlebury 14-11 on Kohn Field. The 13th-ranked Mules (7-5, 5-4) wrap up their regular season at Bates on Wednesday, while the Panthers (10-4, 6-3) will visit Williams on the same day.


Laurel Pascal scored eight goals to lead seventh-ranked Middlebury (10-3) to a 15-8 win over Union (7-5) through driving rain on Kohn Field. The Panthers return to action on Saturday when they host Colby at 11:00 a.m. The eight goals in a game are the most for a Middlebury player since Heidi Howard ’99 accomplished the feat on May 10, 1998.


Eighth-ranked Trinity (10-2, 7-1) scored three of the final four goals on Saturday afternoon, including the game-winning tally with 10:33 left, and hung on for a key 10-9 NESCAC win over fifth-ranked Middlebury (9-3, 6-3) on Kohn Field. The Panthers continue their current four-game homestand with a match Tuesday at 5:30 against Union, while the Bantams travel to Hamilton next Saturday at noon.  


Second-ranked Cortland outscored Middlebury 8-2 over the game’s final 22 minutes on its way to a 12-10 win over the fifth-ranked Panthers (9-2) on Kohn Field. The Red Dragons remain perfect on the season at 11-0, while Middlebury sees a 13-game home winning streak snapped, dating back to April 14, 2012.


Fifth-ranked Middlebury outscored #14 Bates 5-1 in the second half, erasing a 5-2 halftime deficit to earn a 7-6 NESCAC road win on Saturday at Garcelon Field. Bridget Instrum scored twice for the Panthers (9-1, 6-1 NESCAC) in the final 14:18, including the unassisted game-winner with 7:23 remaining.
