Director's Corner

This March, over 40 members and friends of the Bread Loaf Teacher Network’s Next Generation youth opportunity and learning program gathered at the Navajo Nation Museum in Window Rock, Arizona, to celebrate writing beautifully at the Hazhó’ó Hólne’ Writing Conference. In the stunning landscape of the Canyon de Chelly, Navajo teachers, students, traditional storytellers, singers, and elders met with Bread Loaf faculty, youth, and mentors from Georgia, Massachusetts, Kentucky, New Mexico, New York, South Carolina, Alaska, and Vermont to turn place into poetry, creative expression into cultural exchange. An inspiring instance of Bread Loaf education in action and place.
