Dates and Fees
We offer need-based financial aid and special scholarships and fellowships to help make Bread Loaf studies affordable. During the summer of 2025, approximately 69 percent of Bread Loaf students received grants, with an average award of over $8,300.
Tuition fees cover the standard two-unit course load at each campus. Students taking a third unit of credit will be charged an additional one-half of the standard tuition fee. Students taking one unit and living off campus in Vermont will be charged only one half of the standard tuition fee.

Deposits and Payment
Accepted applicants must pay a $400 nonrefundable deposit, which will be applied to the total bill. Students will not be officially enrolled in the program or assigned rooms until this deposit is received. Final bill notifications are emailed in April and are payable upon receipt. A late fee will be charged for bills not paid by June 1, except in cases of late admission. Students who withdraw for medical reasons or serious emergencies forfeit the enrollment deposit but may receive a partial refund of the tuition and board charges.
