A Celebration of 25 Years in New Mexico

This summer, Bread Loaf will host a celebration of its 25th anniversary in New Mexico. Plans are underway for a festive day of celebration, to include a barbeque lunch, student symposium (see details below), reception with mariachi band, and dance. Please check back here throughout the spring for updates.

We are very pleased to debut here a new video on the Santa Fe campus, in which you’ll hear thoughts from students and on-site director Cheryl Glenn about a place that is cherished by those who know it.

Student Symposium

Reading and Writing: Motivations, Inspirations, Tribulations, and Reincarnations

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Bread Loaf Santa Fe, we invite all 2015 New Mexico students to submit writings that explore why and how we read and write.

Each summer students from all over the world arrive at Bread Loaf with stacks of books and dreams of writing. We Bread Loafers read and write--academically and creatively, alone and with others. That's what we do, and we love it.

This call is for a mini-symposium of student papers to be held during the 25th anniversary celebration of the Bread Loaf New Mexico campus. We look forward to receiving your half-page proposal that describes your ten-minute presentation (four double-spaced pages, at most), during which you will explore reading and writing in your personal life, your scholarly life, or your classroom. Please send only one submission per student.

Please email your half-page proposal as an attachment to Vicki Vanbrocklin by May 15, 2015. Kindly include "Bread Loaf Anniversary" in the subject line. Presenters will be notified by email on June 1, 2015.
