Maurice Manning’s latest book is The Gone and the Going Away (2013). He was a Guggenheim fellow for 2011-2012. His fourth book of poetry, The Common Man, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2011. His first book, Lawrence Booth’s Book of Visions (2001), was selected by W.S. Merwin for the Yale Series of Younger Poets. Manning has also published A Companion for Owls (2004) and Bucolics (2007). Manning teaches in the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College and at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. In 2013 Manning was inducted into The Fellowship of Southern Writers.
