Xoaquima Díaz is a fiction and creative nonfiction writer from Puerto Rico. A former journalist, she is currently an adjunct professor of English at Miami Dade College. Xoaquima received her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Antioch University and served as a Contributing Editor for StoryQuarterly. She has a story forthcoming in Kweli Journal, has recently completed her first novel, Adrift, and her first collection of short stories, NeoRican, and is currently working on a memoir about life after surviving a plane crash. She has attended the VONA Writers’ Workshop, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and was awarded a three-week residency at Hedgebrook.
