Bread Loafer Jericho Brown Wins 2020 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry

We would like to congratulate Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference Faculty Member Jericho Brown for wining the Pulitzer Prize for his book The Tradition. Jericho first attended the conference in 2002 as a Work-study Scholar and returned in future years as an Administrative Staff Scholar (2005), Robert Frost Fellow in Poetry (2010), and Amanda Davis Returning Fellow (2017) before joining the Faculty in 2019. The Bread Loaf Community Mourns the Sudden Passing of Eavan Boland

Eavan Boland passed away in her home city of Dublin on April 27. An extraordinary poet of international stature, Eavan was also a gifted and generous teacher who served on the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference faculty in 2007, 2012, 2014, and 2017. We will be sharing some archival footage of Eavan’s presence on the mountain soon.

Bread Loaf Mourns the Loss of H. G. Carrillo

The Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference staff are sad to announce that H. G. Carrillo passed away on April 20 from the coronavirus. “Hache,” as he was known, was an Alan Collins Tuition Scholar in 2002, a Shane Stevens Fellow in 2005, and the Amanda Davis Returning Fellow in 2011. A beloved and admired member of the Bread Loaf community, he was the author of the novel Loosing My Espanish. Click here to see photos of Hache at Bread Loaf.
