MIDDLEBURY, Vt.-Ari Fleischer, Middlebury Class of 1982, who was White House press secretary during the administration of President George W. Bush, will give a talk at Middlebury on October 8 at 8 p.m.

Titled “Taking the Reins: Assessing the First Year of the Obama Presidency,” the talk will be held at Dana Auditorium and is free and open to the public. Dana Auditorium is off College Street (Route 125) on the Middlebury College campus.

Fleischer served as the primary spokesperson for President Bush during most of his first term, and later wrote a best-selling book, Taking Heat, which chronicled his time in the White House. He is now the head of Ari Fleischer Sports Communications.

Fleischer’s talk is sponsored by the Department of Political Science, Atwater Commons, the College Republicans, and the College Democrats.
