Quoted: This is How Middlebury College Responded After the Paris Terror Attacks

December 2, 2015

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- The November 13 terrorist attacks in Paris posed an immediate challenge for Middlebury. With 50 students enrolled in the College's School in France, headquartered in Paris, the staff began contacting students right away to ensure their safety. Within a few hours, all but one of the students were accounted for and their families had been informed. The last student confirmed his safety shortly afterward.

In an interview with Boston.com, Dean of International Programs Jeffrey Cason recounts the remarkable logistical task required to account for all of the students so quickly. He also discusses what the attacks have meant for the school and its students in the short term, but also in the year ahead.
