Middlebury takes a look back at some of the stories that shaped the past year, from construction to commencements to political activism.

Middlebury kicked off 2016 with a celebration of the humanities, hosting one of the Folger Library’s few remaining Shakespeare First Folios. By the end of the year, there was a celebration of a different sort when the College announced it had reached a decade-long goal of carbon neutrality. In between we saw a new dorm open while another dorm turned 200. Student activism surged in many forms, most notably following the presidential election. So, here we present some highlights from this busy year–stories that reflect the events of both our campus community and the larger world.
