Middlebury College and White River Junction VA Healthcare System Partner for a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic April 10

April 1, 2021

UPDATED April 6, 2021
The clinic is now open to spouses and caregivers of veterans too. These individuals do not need to be enrolled in VA care to get the vaccine. They should also call 802-296-5151 to make an appointment.

Middlebury, Vt. - The White River Junction Veterans Affairs (VA) Healthcare System and Middlebury College are partnering in the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. On April 10, the White River Junction VA will administer the Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine at the Middlebury College Athletics Complex on South Main Street. This clinic is just for Veterans and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees by scheduled appointment only.

“Partnerships within our communities across Vermont and New Hampshire are the key components in our vaccination deployment,” said Dr. Becky Rhoads, acting director for the White River Junction VA Healthcare System. “Each large vaccination clinic we are able to offer is one step closer to creating safe communities across our region.”

Middlebury College is centrally located in the western part of Vermont which is why the campus is a perfect choice for the next White River Junction VA vaccination clinic. Typically Veterans in this area may have to drive up to Burlington or down to Rutland to receive their care, but by offering a clinic in Middlebury, the VA has enabled Veterans to easily access a COVID-19 vaccine closer to home.

"We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Veterans Affairs’ vaccination effort and support the health of local Veterans,” said Laurie Patton, president of Middlebury. “In this past year, Middlebury College could not have been successful without the invaluable support of the town of Middlebury, Addison County, and the state of Vermont. COVID-19 has taught us how critical local partnerships are and we are happy to join with the White River Junction VA Healthcare System to make this clinic possible.”

Complete details for this clinic are outlined below. Everyone must schedule an appointment by calling 802-296-5151.
