Paul Malloy ‘18 (center) was a member of the 2017-2018 Men’s Track and Field Team, whose members earned first place with the best cumulative GPA of all 106 Division III Men’s All-Academic Track and Field Teams.

To be honored, the members of an entire team must have a cumulative grade point average above the minimum requirements provided by their sport’s governing organization. To earn NESCAC All-Academic honors, a player must have completed one full year of college study and carry a minimum GPA of 3.40 or better.

Below is a list of the teams and the honors that they earned:

  • Men’s and women’s track and field: Honored by the USTFCCCA, the men’s team earned first place with the best cumulative grade point average—3.73—of all 106 Division III All-Academic Track and Field Teams. The women tied for second out of 185 programs with an identical 3.73 GPA.
  • Women’s basketball: Honored by the WBCA with a spot on the Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. Team grade point average was 3.619, the 13th highest in Division III.
  • Women’s tennis: Earned a 2018 ITA All-Academic Team Award, finishing with a 3.72 GPA.
  • Men’s tennis: Earned a 2018 ITA All-Academic Team Award, finishing with a 3.62 GPA.
  • Women’s lacrosse: Selected as a 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad and earned a 3.61 team GPA.
  • Men’s and women’s cross-country: Honored by the USTFCCCA, the Panther men compiled a 3.71 team GPA, good for the fourth-best mark in Division III, while the women finished with a 3.69 GPA to tie for 20th.
  • Women’s golf: Recognized by the WGCA, they finished seventh among NCAA Division III institutions with a cumulative grade point average of 3.64.
  • Baseball: Honored with the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, presented to teams with a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
  • Field hockey: Honored by the NFHCA with a 2017 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Collegiate National Academic Squad Award, which recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher.
  • Volleyball: Earned the AVCA Team Academic Award with a team grade point average of 3.60, marking the 13th consecutive year that the program has been recognized.
