MIDDLEBURY, VT—Each year the Friends of the Art Museum at Middlebury College recognize those who have made significant contributions to the community, either through their creative endeavors or through support for the visual arts in Addison County. At their Annual Meeting on Sun., May 4, the Friends honored eight individuals in six categories. Student award winners were Middlebury College senior Aaron Gensler, Middlebury College senior Alexxa Gotthardt, Middlebury College junior Jared Rosenberg, Mount Abraham Union High School senior Henry Webb, and Cornwall Elementary School sixth-grader Julian Hamilton. Tal Birdsey of the North Branch School was the award recipient in the category of Teacher in a Public or Independent School. The winner in the category of Benefactor, Volunteer, or Organization was Karen Lueders of the Walkover Art Gallery. The winner in the category of Professional/Amateur Artist, Craftsperson, or Teacher was Jane Eddy, of Middlebury, VT.
