Middlebury College Donates Computers to Town’s

Library

Fifteen personal computers have been donated to the

Ilsley Public Library, in the town of Middlebury, by Middlebury

College. Of the nine computers that have been installed, five

have access to the library’s catalog and Netscape, and three have

Microsoft word processing and spreadsheet software . One is being

used by the staff. A grant of $7,000 was given by Friends of

Ilsley Public Library to cover the cost of upgrading the wiring,

and purchasing the software, two printers and several CD-ROM products.

“We appreciate the thoughtfulness of the College,”

said David Clark, director of the library. “These computers

will be used by so many residents of all ages. Middlebury is

taking a big step in providing equal access to information for

all residents.”
