Su Wen Ching Ensemble to Perform at Middlebury

College Center for the Arts

The Su Wen Ching Chinese Ensemble, founded in 1994

by renowned composer Wen-ching Su, will offer a multi-cultural

musical program at the Middlebury College Center for the Arts

on Wednesday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. The members of the group

are considered the elite of contemporary professional Chinese

players, and are dedicated to performance, teaching and cultural

exchange.

Coming to Middlebury by an invitation from the Middlebury

College Chinese School, the Ensemble has also performed for audiences

all over the world-from Asia to Australia; Canada; Central and

South America; and the United States. Listeners will enjoy a

highly diversified repertoire including traditional Chinese music,

Taiwanese folk songs, and compositions reflecting the cultural

traditions of many other countries as well.
