Middlebury College Announces New
Head Golf Professional
Jim Dayton Available to Public for Golf Instruction
Jim Dayton has accepted the position of head golf
professional at Middlebury College’s Ralph Myhre Golf Course.
He will assume his new duties as of June 29. Dayton’s responsibilities
will include overseeing the golf pro shop operations, tournaments,
club activities and golf instruction. He also will act as an
advisor to Middlebury College’s varsity golf program and coordinate
all aspects of the College’s physical education golf instruction.
Dayton is a Class A Professional Golf Association
(PGA) golf professional and brings 17 years experience to his
new role at Middlebury. For the past 13 years, he was the head
golf professional at Sunrise Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Prior to this position, he was the head golf professional at
the Jeremy Ranch Golf and Country Club in Park City, Utah, and
the Fremont Golf Course in St. Anthony, Idaho. Dayton also has
served on various boards and committees. He is the education
chairman of the PGA’s Inland Desert Chapter and a member of the
Rules Committee for the PGA’s Southern California Section.
