MIDDLEBURY,

VT - Jennifer G. Lane has been appointed Director of the

Middlebury College Center for the Arts. She began her new

position Aug. 13. Lane will assume directorship of the

Middlebury College Performing Arts Series in 2002, when she

will begin planning the programming for the 2003-2004 arts

series season.

Prior to her

arrival at Middlebury, Lane was the artistic administrator

at Columbia University’s Miller Theatre. She has also been

employed by the New York office of IMG Artists, an agency

representing performers, where she worked closely with Steve

Reich, the Emerson Quartet, and other musicians who are

familiar figures in Middlebury’s Performing Arts Series.

Lane earned her undergraduate degree in music and English

from Bryn Mawr College, and is completing a master’s in

public policy and administration at Columbia’s School of

International and Public Affairs.
