Middlebury College names new director and associate director of public affairs
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. ? Sarah Ray, previously the associate director of public affairs at Middlebury College, has been named director of public affairs. Her colleague, Blair Kloman, until now a public affairs senior writer, will assume the position of associate director.
Ray joined the Middlebury College public affairs office in 1997 and has nearly 20 years experience in public relations. She began her career in advertising in New York City and later joined the book publishing industry, where she worked at Doubleday and Scribner’s. After leaving New York for Vermont, Ray became manager of public relations for Bruegger’s, the Burlington-based chain of bagel bakeries. In her new role at Middlebury College, she will lead the public affairs office’s efforts to develop stories for the media about Middlebury students, faculty and staff. Ray is a 1985 graduate of Middlebury College.
