Amanda Gregg Awarded Visiting Economics Position in Finland
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Amanda Gregg, assistant professor of economics, has been awarded a visiting position at the Bank of Finland Institute for Economics in Transition (BOFIT) that will enable her to spend four weeks in Finland in Fall 2019 working on a project titled “Financing Industrialization in Late-Imperial Russia: Evidence from Factory Censuses and Corporate Balance Sheets.”
Gregg studies economic history and economic development, with research interests in industrial development, productivity, and commercial law in Late Imperial Russia. For her research on the Russian industrial sector, she has constructed a large database of Russian manufacturing establishments using Russian data from 1894, 1900, and 1908.
Gregg attended the Davis School of Russian at Middlebury in the summer of 2008.
