John Baldessari, Cliché: Japanese (Yellow), 1995, lithograph and silkscreen on paper, 37 x 37 3/4 inches. Middlebury College Museum of Art, purchase with funds provided by the Electra Havemeyer Webb Memorial Fund.

Drawn from the museum’s permanent collection of prints, this survey includes recently acquired lithographs and silkscreens by John Baldessari, Sarah Sze, Sam Francis, and John Wesley, among other artists. The result of collaboration between the artists and master printers, the works on view include an image produced by students in a printmaking class made possible through the Cameron Visiting Artist Program at the College. Another multiple, employing laser technology, comes literally off the wall and into the viewer’s space.
