Matthew Biette is new head of dining at Middlebury College

MIDDLEBURY, Vt.-Matthew Biette, the former Middlebury College associate director of dining services, has been promoted to the position of director of dining services. In his new

position, Biette has responsibility for all aspects of the department, including event catering, the Grille and other cash operations, and residential dining.

Biette joined the staff at Middlebury College in December 1997 as associate director of dining services. Prior to coming to Middlebury, he held several positions at Tufts University, including manager of campus center retail operations. A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Biette is an active member of the National Association of College and University Food Services, which he served as a regional secretary and treasurer from 1999-2003.

Biette reports to Middlebury College Assistant Treasurer Tom Corbin, who said in an interview with the student newspaper The Campus, “I wanted a leader who would be inclusive in his management style, willing to try new ideas and had great people skills. Matthew has all of these qualities.”
