Commencement Update
The following message was sent to the Middlebury campus community on Saturday, May 23.
Dear Middlebury Community,
The Commencement ceremony on the Central College Lawn will proceed as planned.
Due to tomorrow’s weather forecast, we write to remind you of the alternate viewing locations for the Class of 2026 Commencement ceremony on May 24.
The three viewing areas offering livestream access are located at Wilson Hall, Dana Auditorium, and Middlebury Chapel.
In addition, the Commencement Luncheon following the ceremony has been moved indoors to the Proctor, Ross, and Atwater Dining Halls. We ask that graduates and guests have lunch in the dining hall closest to the graduate’s residence hall.
Please be mindful that seating will be very limited in dining halls. We encourage you, as you are able, to take your food to-go and enjoy your meal in one of the residence hall lounge spaces, or any of the following areas:
- Coltrane Lounge, Adirondack House
- Gifford Lecture Classroom, Gifford Hall
- The Grille, McCullough Student Center
- Wilson Hall, McCullough Student Center
- Ross 011 Classroom
- LaForce 121 Seminar Room
- Grand Salon, Le Chateau
Updates and other changes to the schedule will be available on the Commencement website.
We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we celebrate the Class of 2026. Guests are encouraged to dress appropriately for wet weather and windy conditions.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
Sincerely,
Middlebury College Commencement Planning Committee
