With next week’s midterm elections approaching, MiddVotes has been hosting voter registration drives on campus to help students register to vote. “It doesn’t matter what your party affiliation is or what you believe,” said Nisha Hickok ’28.5, MiddVotes’ events coordinator. “We just want everybody to be excited to get out and vote and be involved in their community,”

At a recent voter registration drive in front of Proctor Dining Hall, first-year student Christina Adolphe stopped by to check her registration status. “I just turned 18 this past year so this will be my first time voting,” Adolphe said. “I think right now is a really important time to vote, especially in this political climate.”

The campus club, which also organizes civic education initiatives and speaker events, will be offering transportation to local polling places once an hour throughout Election Day.
