Who are Bread Loaf students?

They come from all 50 states and from countries around the world. If they are teachers, they are seeking a graduate school experience that will challenge and stimulate them, expand and deepen their knowledge of the subjects they teach, and work with their teaching schedules.

Applicants teach in public, private, and international schools, at all levels. They work in publishing, college administration, communications, journalism, business, law, medicine, and almost any profession you can imagine. Some are in their early twenties, some are in their forties and beyond; the median age of our students is about 30.
