Join Dr. April Edwell (she/they), Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals for a coffee hour discussion at the Elizabeth Hackett Robinson ’84 Innovation Hub (132 Blinn Lane) on January 14 at 2pm.

Dr. Edwell is the 2025 Projects for Peace Alumni Award recipient. Projects for Peace is a global program under the Center for Community Engagement (CCE), and the award, now in its third year, offers $50K to support the ongoing peacebuilding efforts of past Projects for Peace grant recipients who demonstrate innovation and persistence in working for peace and transforming conflict.

Dr. Edwell works as Pediatric Intensivist at UCSF helping critically ill children and their families, and will address how they de-escalate and transform conflicts in healthcare settings through innovative approaches that include trauma-informed and anti-racist frameworks. Learn about April’s original Project for Peace award and how that work influenced and informed her pathway and current work. Co-sponsored by the Elizabeth Hackett Robinson ’84 Innovation Hub and Global Health department.
