Exploring Sake: What it is, how it’s made, how it’s evolving to become a sustainable & equal-opportunity craft beverage

Description of event: Lecture to take place on April 13th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm onward at Axinn 219. In addition to serving as a “Sake 101” on the basics of sake, the talk will cover topics ranging from the effect of 3/11 on Tohoku-area sake makers, sustainability and innovation in the sake-making process, and the growing role of women in this traditionally male-dominated craft. A four-course sake pairing dinner will follow from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at 51 Main, co-sponsored by MiddUncorked.
