Lina Prosa’s “Lampedusa Beach”:
A Migrant’s Voice from the Depths of the Mediterranean
Allison Grimaldi Donahue and Nerina Cocchi will present a short lecture on co-translating a politically charged and extremely timely work of Italian theater. This will be a talk about the process of translation, performance and the use of artistic voice and body in dealing with painful political realities, and will also give an overview of the importance of Lina Prosa’s work in this framework.
A performance of the text, with the participation of the students, will follow.
