Middlebury and the Outdoors

Please join the Middlebury Mountain Club as it celebrates its 100th year anniversary in reflection on its history regarding exclusivity in the outdoors. A faculty panel will discuss the visible and hidden identities that have been historically present (or absent) in dominant outdoor culture. Questions will be directed to include how Middlebury has factored into this outdoor culture - what Middlebury voices have been excluded from the outdoors? What voices at Middlebury have dominated nature? How has Middlebury viewed the outdoors/nature? How has Middlebury both defined and shaped the definition of the outdoors?
There will be a open Q&A session during the last fifteen minutes of the panel.
