Talk by Patricia Simon, Ph.D. Multiple tobacco product use among youth is a significant public health concern. Among youth who use any tobacco product, 34.7% reported current use of multiple tobacco products (i.e., two or more tobacco products in the past 30 days). Since tobacco companies target consumers based on clearly defined user segments, the success of tobacco use prevention efforts can be bolstered by a deeper understanding of how multiple tobacco product use is segmented among adolescents. This presentation will review results from studies using Connecticut and nationally representative data to characterize adolescent multiple tobacco product use.
