Join the Middlebury Pre-Health Society in welcoming Mr. Cooper Couch, a physician’s assistant in training! He will be available to speak with students interested in becoming a PA, or looking to explore the variety of health professions.
Cooper Couch ’14.5 is a third-year PA (physician assistant) student at the Primary Care Physician Assistant Program at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Cooper aspires to increase access to quality physical, mental and behavioral health services for underserved populations through compassionate team-based primary healthcare. His approach emphasizes community engagement, cultural humility, leadership and advocacy. Nationally, he serves as Student Director on the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) Board of Directors and as President of the Student Academy of AAPA. He was a 2018-19 Student Leadership Fellow with the LBGT PA Caucus and a 2018 scholar for the National Medical Fellowships Primary Care Leadership Program. Upon graduation, he hopes to increase access to trans healthcare and substance use disorder therapies for underserved communities in Colorado’s Western Slope. When not in school, he lives in Gypsum, CO with his fiancé Marty and their dog Mila.
