“The Sorcery of Color: Race, Gender and Genocide in Brazil”, Elisa Larkin-Nascimento”

ELISA LARKIN NASCIMENTO, M.A., J.D., Ph.D, is author of several books inclduing works on Afro-Brazilian women. co-founder and director of the Afro-Brazilian Studies and Research Institute (IPEAFRO) of Rio de Janeiro; political activists and wife and partner to Abdias do Nascimento, one of the most important Afro-Brazilian political organizer in the late 20th century. This lecture on the intersectionality of of race, and gender, highlights the role of women and exposes how the politics of gender has led to the massacre of black people in Brazilian.
