An introduction to the theatre of Samuel Beckett with Gare St Lazare Ireland

Irish theatre company Gare St Lazare Ireland have over 23 years experience in performing and touring the plays and prose of Samuel Beckett. Joint artistic directors Judy Hegarty Lovett (director) and Conor Lovett (actor) are regarded among the foremost interpreters and specialists and have toured their work to over 85 cities in 23 countries around the world.

This workshop will focus on scene work from Beckett’s play Waiting for Godot, and the company use it as an opportunity both to introduce Beckett’s world to students and to demonstrate that Beckett’s work, with its musicality, comedy, pathos and attention to spatial and physical issues, serves as an ideal training for any actor, director or designer.
