"Discourse and Discord at Middlebury: A Way Forward" - Carol Rifelj Faculty Lecture Series

Last spring, Middlebury, like many colleges and universities in the United States, experienced significant campus protests. We now know that we do not agree on important assumptions about who we are and what we are up to at this liberal arts college. So, now what? How do we consciously choose not to allow our ‘busyness’ to be an excuse for avoiding the important dialogues and discussions that we must have? I will offer concrete proposals for us to consider and ask the audience to engage and critique the proposals.
